Draft registration arrangements completed

All arrangements for the draft registration in this county on Wednesday have been completed, R.L. Donaldson, chairman of the County Election Commision, and W. Grady Sidwell, representing Gov. Prentice Cooper, announced Monday.

Registrations will take place in 13 places in the county and are: Celina, Willow Grove, Pea Ridge, Hermitage Springs, Arcot, Miles Cross Roads, Brimstone, Fox Springs, Clementsville, Proctor, Butler’s Landing, Moss and Fairview.

The Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a banquet in honor of the Celina football squad on the night of October 30, at which time letters will be awarded and captains for next year’s team will be elected.

Coaches Watson and Monroe are pleased with the team’s showing this year.

Misses Lorene Neely and Katherine Overstreet spent the weekend in Willow Grove with relatives.

Come to the Celina Coffee Shoppe to get your hamburgers, 5 cents.

Miss Joyce Sidwell will take part in a presentation of “Esso Amateurs on Parade” at station WLAC in Nashville Saturday night.

She has been chosen among 175 amateurs from 15 Middle Tennessee counties who have appeared on the Sunday afternoon broadcasts from station WHUB at Cookeville.

A wedding of much interest to friends and relatives in Clay County was the marriage Saturday, October 12, of Miss M.C. Smith to Addison Hurst of Crossville. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lex Smith of Neely’s Cross Roads. Esquire J.B. Bailey officiated.
