Business budgeting startup seminar set for Jan. 19

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 11, 2010)Learning to develop a budget and stick with it is a critical skill for any small business owner. A free seminar that will be presented Jan. 19 by the Tennessee Tech University Small Business Development Center can give you some help.

“Budgeting and Saving Basics” is the title of the seminar being presented from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 19, at Progressive Savings Bank in Cookeville on Interstate Drive.

Led by Renee Bowerman, a financial consultant for Compass Financial Consultants, this free budgeting seminar will equip you with these basic budgeting skills: how to balance your checkbook, how to develop a basic budget, how to attack your debt in an effective way, and how to be a saver.

The TSBDC is a community outreach initiative of TTU’s College of Business, and it is among a network that operates statewide to assist the small business sector by providing free counseling to potential entrepreneurs and small business owners.
