CCHS golfers complete good season

The Clay County High golf team recently completed its most successful season ever, and thanked sponsors and supporters for their help in making that possible.

The CCHS boys team finished ninth of 14 teams in the district competition. Team members included Scottie Ballard, Jordan Strong, Kyle Page, Taylor White, Brett White, Braiden White, Jon Leonard, Jake Clements, Brian Korth, Derick Hix and Tanner Harvey. Girls team members were Rachel Burnette and Courtney Key.

Coaches thanked sponsors State Farm Insurance, Dale Hollow 1-Stop, Affordable Motors, Clay Co. Farm Supply and Cumberland Bend Golf Course for their help.

“Mr. Randolph, the owner of Cumberland Bend, has let us use his course as our home course and has also allowed our players to practice free,” said volunteer coach Betty Jo White. “We really appreciate that.”

The team was also supported by parents, volunteers and school coach Joe Sims, team officials said.
