Free tree seedlings available in Celina

Seedlings will be available free of charge at Radio Shack here March 2 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in celebration of Arbor Day. Baldcypress, pin oak, and pecan will be given away this year on a first come-first serve basis continuing until all the seedlings are gone.
The Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Division of Forestry is offering the trees in recognition of the event founded by J. Sterling Morton in Nebraska in 1872.
National Arbor Day is officially celebrated each year on the last Friday in April but due to the varying climates and growing seasons across the country, each state celebrates Arbor Day on a slightly different date. The State of Tennessee celebrates Arbor Day on the first Friday of March.
