A COLOSSAL CLASH OF CHAMPIONS: Lady Buffaloes, Lady Blue Devils face off for the District 7-A title tonight
LIVINGSTON-Perennial district and statewide powers Clarkrange and Jackson County will face off for the girls championship in District 7-A tonight, following comfortable semi-final wins last week.
The top-seeded Clarkrange girls knocked off Pickett County for a third time this season in the first semi-final last Thursday by a 68-49 score, while Jackson County topped Clay County 52-38.
Both teams led basically the whole game in their wins. Clarkrange led by six after one against Pickett, and held a 15-point lead (35-20) at intermission as they cruised to their 31st win of the season.
Jackson County also built a double-digit lead at the half (22-10) and held off a Clay County comeback late in the third quarter and early in the fourth to set up yet another title game between the two powerhouses.
Clay County and Pickett County will meet in the girls consolation game tonight.
