8th-graders take step toward future at career fair

Event hosted by TTU at Hyder Burks Pavilion
COOKEVILLE-All Clay County 8th-grade students participated in the 8th Grade Career Fair at the Tennessee Tech University Hyder Burks Pavilion earlier this month.
The career fair was presented by the Highlands Economic Partnership. This event marks a significant step in our ongoing commitment to preparing students for college, career, and life beyond the classroom.
Held as part of the Highlands Economic Partnership College and Career Readiness initiative, the career fair gave students the opportunity to engage with professionals from eight key industry clusters.
Through hands-on learning activities, demonstrations, and one-on-one conversations, students explored a wide range of career fields—including healthcare, technology, manufacturing, public service, and more.
“Clay County Schools is deeply grateful to the Highlands Economic Partnership and all participating industry partners for helping make this experience possible,” school officials said. “Events like this are essential in helping our students begin to envision their future and take the first steps toward achieving it.”
