CELINA-Clay County Government has a new website and it was officially announced here during the October meeting of the Clay County Commissioners.
The county website address is www.claycountytngov.com.
County Clerk Donna Watson praised Carol Rettig for her work on the website.
“I would like to commend Carol on the website,” Watson said. “Have you all seen our website that she has put together?
“It looks really good.”
County mayor Dale Reagan explained the website’s intent is to provide transparency to the public.
The new website currently features a county calendar, including meeting dates and times. County government contact information is also available on the website.
“Judge (Jimmy) White asked me why don’t we have a website?” Reagan said. “We need a website—you can use that like as far as public address, public meetings, and we can put it on the website.
“That was one suggestion that (state) legislators made.”
Other business
In other business, commissioner Jennifer Ritter made a motion to amend the appropriations resolutions for the fiscal year 2024-2025, which were passed on August 12, 2024. Commissioner Bryan Coons seconded the motion and it passed 10-0.
County legislators approved an authorization for a contract with Wex Sourcewell Government Fuel Fleet.
According to sheriff Brandon Boone, the new contract would allow his department to “fill up at any gas station.”
“We will try it for a year and see how it goes,” Coons said.
Annette Stewart and Kaylee Dubose were also approved as public notaries at the meeting.
