Early voting ends Thursday; Election Day is on Tuesday
CLAY COUNTY-Early voting continues here at the Celina Volunteer Fire Department located at 213 Green Street through Thursday, October 31, and final ballots will then be cast here next Tuesday, November 5 on Election Day.
According to an online report published by the Tennessee Secretary of State (SOS), a total of 1,735 ballots had been cast as of the close of polls Saturday, including 1,636 in-person early votes and 99 absentee votes via mail.
The election’s feature race is for U.S. President between Republican Donald Trump, Democrat Kamala Harris, and five other independent candidates.
Also on the ballot are races for:
• U.S. Senate between incumbent Republican Marsha Blackburn, Democrat Gloria Johnson, and three other independent candidates;
• District 6 U.S. Representative between incumbent Republican John Rose and Democrat Lore Bergman;
• District 12 State Senate between incumbent Republican Ken Yager and independent Charles Hutson II, and
• District 38 State Representative between incumbent Republican Kelly Keisling and independent Alexander Armor.
Clay Countians voting early or on Election Day should remember to bring valid photo identification to the polls.
A driver’s license or photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, by the Tennessee state government, or by the federal government are acceptable even if they are expired. College student IDs are not acceptable.
