Saturday parade to kick off holidays

Evan Hayes to serve as Grand Marshall

CELINA-The annual Clay County Christmas Parade will be held here downtown this Saturday night beginning at 6 p.m.

“The Christmas season is here and the downtown merchants have been working hard to make this “Merry and Bright Christmas Parade” another great one,” organizers said. “We’ve already got so many entries and we hope to be bigger than last year!”

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand for the event, along with Grand Marshall Evan Hayes.

The parade will start on the bypass (in front of Subway), continue through town down Lake Avenue, pass the courthouse, and end at Dutchcraft below the square.

Organizers also plan to hand out awards to the best entries in this year’s parade.

For those who can’t make it downtown Saturday night, the parade will also be streamed live on the Dale Hollow Horizon Facebook page by the Horizon Live Network.
