CELINA-The Clay County Chamber of Commerce announced late last month a new annual festival will be held here downtown in late March and more details were made public last week.

The 1st Annual Chocolate Gravy Festival is set for Saturday, March 22 beginning at 9 a.m., and it will include live music, vendors, and more to go along with the featured chocolate gravy contest.

Organizers have created online applications for both prospective participants and vendors.  They are also reaching out to those interested in sponsoring the event.

“Get ready for the sweetest event of the year!” they said on the Celina Downtown Events Facebook page.  “The 2025 Chocolate Gravy Festival in Clay County, TN is coming soon, and we are looking for vendors, contestants, and sponsors to make this year the best yet!”

Links to the applications are available on the Celina Downtown Events Facebook page and potential sponsors are invited to inquire via text or by calling 931-397-3874.

Multiple sponsorship levels are available, including one Main Event Sponsor, along with Platinum Ladle, Golden Whisk, and Silver Spoon sponsorships.

“Help support this sweet tradition and gain exposure to a great local community,” organizers said to anyone interested in supporting the festival.  “Become a sponsor today!”

The initial announcement of the new festival was made via social media, and posts about it at Facebook.com/Clay.County.TN.Chamber had hundreds of shares and a multitude of comments in support of the idea at the time.

Much like the ever-popular Chili Cook-off held here in the fall, attendees will be able to sample entries and participants of the cooking contest will have a chance to win first, second, and third-place prizes this spring.  In addition, a people’s choice will also be chosen.

Prizes will include $500 for first place, $300 for second place, and $100 for third place.

Sampling bowls and biscuits will be available at the festival.
