All-district first team members Wix, Eads, Adams, and Burchett highlight nine honored from Clay Co.

Wix also named District 7-A Co-Defensive MVP
CELINA-Lady Bulldog senior Laci Wix and junior Ella Eads, along with Bulldog seniors Nate Adams and Lance Burchett, all making their respective first teams highlighted a nine-player representation by Clay County High School on this year’s All-Tri-Lakes Conference teams.
The honorees were chosen by the league’s coaches here at last Thursday’s district meeting held at Ollie’s Place.
Eads led her team is scoring this season (11.9 ppg.), while Wix (6.7 ppg.) paced the Lady Dawgs in averages for other categories, including rebounds (7.3), deflections (2.4), steals (2.9), and blocks (0.9).
Like Eads, Adams was the Bulldogs’ leading scorer (17 ppg.), and he also averaged 5.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and two steals per game, while Burchett put up 12.8 points and 2.8 assists per contest.
Lady Dawg sophomore Haylen Garrison (9.3 ppg.) made the girls second team, while a total of four Clay County players were a part of the third team.
Junior Nolan Adams (12 ppg., 4.9 rpg.), who led his team in assists (4.1) and steals (2.2); junior Cole Eads (9.7 ppg., 5.3 rpg.); junior Baylor Walden (6 ppg., 3.7 rpg.); and sophomore Natalie Smith (7.4 ppg.), who is the girls team assist leader (2.1), all received third-team honors.
Wix was also named District 7-A Co-Defensive MVP of the girls league, while Nolan Adams made the boys all-defensive team.
Bulldog senior Hayden Adams, along with Lady Bulldog junior Claire Kendall, were awarded all-conference team honorable mentions, and both Brooklyn Scott and Kaleah Crawford were named to the all-freshman team.
