Fun month ahead at the library
By ALECIA BURNS
Director of Library Services
August is going to be such a fun month here at the Clay County Public Library!
We are adding a few new things to the calendar to make your experience so much better.
First off, August 7 is going to be our first birth to toddler story time. We are going to try to implement this as an every Thursday thing at 10 a.m. There will be a theme for each reading.
At our first one we are doing “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.” We will be having story time, song time, craft time, and a snack for all the kids to eat before they leave. We hope to see you all here and grow this very fun time at our library.
On August 9, we will be having the very famous Foam Party. We are hoping it will be a great success and bring in a lot of people. It will start at 11 a.m. It’s going to be a big back to school bash. A last celebration of summer.
At this event we will also be drawing for our adult and child summer reading winners. Y ou still have time to come in and get the bingo sheets to be entered into the drawing!
Our monthly bingo will be on August 23. It is a potluck as always. Everyone 16+ is welcome! We hope to see you there.
We are also implementing some dress-up interactive dates to our calendar to engage you all. If you ever have any suggestions, comments, questions, or concerns, you can contact me anytime and let me know.
The library is for the community and we want to bring in things that you as a whole are interested in.
The library board also is in the works with our expansion project. We have received the grant and talked with the architect. We will be having the “page turning meeting” as she called it so that we can move forward.
We, fingers crossed, will have a brand-new expansion and revamped inside of the existing building by September 2026. Bear with is as some changes will be made as we go through the expansion/remodeling.
