Community support continues for Mitchell Boles

Dinner, pickleball tournament, more planned to benefit CCHS student
CELINA-After the Clay County High School football team, members of the softball team, and other local students showed their support for Mitchell Boles last week, the entire community has followed suit.
The CCHS student and fishing team member was recently diagnosed with a type of bone cancer called osteosarcoma and has started treatment, which inspired people here to rally behind the local 16-year-old.
“Pray For Mitchell” electronic signs have been placed all over town, benefit events are being planned, and other fundraisers have occurred.
Among many efforts being made, fellow students and workers at local ice cream shop Scoopers donated a portion of their tips to Boles, The Shabby Rose Market is auctioning off a sign in his honor, and shirts, stickers, and bracelets are being sold in support of him.
A benefit dinner in Boles’ honor is also set at Beech Bethany Church of Christ on Sunday, August 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and pre-orders will be available.
Plus, a pickleball tournament to benefit Boles is set the day before in Joe Sims Gym at CCHS on August 16 beginning at 9 a.m.
Boles also continues to receive an outpouring of support on social media, including from his fishing family on the Tennessee BASS Nation High School & Youth circuit.
His mother Hanna has given regular updates on her son via Facebook and has also offered her appreciation to the community for their support and continued prayers.
