CELINA-The Clay County Lady Bulldog volleyball team is off to a 4-0 start this season, and three of those wins have come against District 7-A foes.
The Lady Dawgs swept Cumberland County, KY and Monterey to start last week, before knocking off Van Buren County 3-2 in Spencer Thursday by winning the fifth and final set.
They also beat Red Boiling Springs Tuesday night 3-0 to get their fourth win of the season.
The victories over the Lady Wildcats, Lady Eagles, and the other Lady Bulldog team pushed Clay County’s district record to a league-leading 3-0.
The team, led by head coach Briley Burchett and assistants Sarah Graves and Joe Adams, is paced by a solid seven-player rotation.
It features seniors Reagan Cherry, Ella Eads, and Baylor Walden, along with juniors Natalie Smith, Haylen Garrison, Jenna Thompson, and Emma Wix.
The Lady Dawgs’ next action will come Thursday night at York, who is also undefeated in District 7-A play.
