Free Hill veterans to be honored with wreath laying next Saturday
FREE HILL-A Wreaths Across America event will be held here at the Free Hill Cemetery next Saturday, December 13, where remembrance wreaths sponsored by the community will be laid on the graves of local veterans.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. and both county mayor Dale Reagan and city mayor Luke Collins will speak at the event.
According to the Wreaths Across America website, when each veteran’s wreath is placed by a volunteer, they will also say the veteran’s name to ensure that the legacy of duty, service, and sacrifice is never forgotten.
Those interested in sponsoring a wreath or volunteering can visit wreathsacrossamerica.org/pages/187527.
Besides coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, Wreaths Across America’s mission to Remember, Honor, and Teach is carried out throughout the year.
