Clements chosen for leadership role

Clay native to serve as mentor for young cattlemen
MURFREESBORO-Clay County’s Alyssa Clements has been selected to serve as the Class Mentor for the 2026 Young Cattlemen’s Leadership Program (YCLP), a distinguished leadership role within the statewide initiative sponsored by the Tennessee Beef Industry Council (TBIC) and the Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association (TCA).
Clements recently won the Tennessee Young Farmers & Ranchers Excellence in Agriculture award and was named the nation runner-up in the same competition at the American Farm Bureau Federation Convention.
Now as a YCLP Class Mentor, Clements will play a key leadership role throughout the year-long program, guiding participants, supporting session activities, and helping foster collaboration among class members. The mentor position is both an honor and a recognition of demonstrated leadership within Tennessee’s beef industry.
The Young Cattlemen’s Leadership Program is designed to equip emerging cattle industry leaders with the knowledge, skills, and industry perspective necessary to serve at the local, state, and national levels.
Through six sessions held across Tennessee, participants gain a comprehensive understanding of the beef industry—from production and promotion to advocacy and organizational leadership.
During the first session held February 6–7 in Franklin, Clements stepped into her mentor role by guiding class discussions, supporting program facilitation, and helping cultivate an engaging learning environment for participants.
By serving as Class Mentor, Clements represents Clay County and Tennessee’s cattle industry at a high level, demonstrating a commitment to strengthening the next generation of agricultural leaders.
The Young Cattlemen’s Leadership Program continues to invest in individuals who are passionate about advancing Tennessee’s beef industry and ensuring its long-term success.
