Clay youth anglers notch nice finishes

Local teams fare well on home lake
DALE HOLLOW-Clay County youth anglers have notched several nice finishes in tournament action this spring, led by Jaxen White’s recent youth division title in the Bill Dance Giant Bass Open held here late last month.
White pocketed $1,500 when he caught a 5.41-pound largemouth, which held up for the heaviest in his division for the tournament, and he ran his total winnings near $2,000 by placing in another segment of the event.
White and his partner Braydon Scott also have a tournament win under their belts this year, after claiming a high school division title here on Dale Hollow Lake in February with 17.03 pounds.
Additionally, the duo added an 11th-place finish at Chickamauga with 18.02 pounds earlier this year, along with a 4th-place finish at Center Hill (16.41 lbs.), and a Top 20 finish at both Tim’s Ford (10.79 lbs.) and a two-day event on Dale Hollow (29.88 lbs.) this past weekend.
White’s teammates Emmy and Will Carr are also off to good starts to the season, after they finished third with 16.33 pounds and won the big fish award (5.13 lbs.) at the first Dale Hollow tournament.
They also finished fifth at Center Hill with 15.01 pounds and in the Top 50 this past weekend.
A pair of other high school teams have been in on the action this season, including Hunter and Kylie Brawner—who had a Top 25 finish this past weekend, and Faith Burks and Allie Reagan.
Sadie Burks and Haygan Brawner also notched a Top 25 finish in the junior division over the weekend.
