Lady Bulldogs rally late to top Pickett and take 3rd place in 7-A tourney
LIVINGSTON-The Clay County Lady Bulldogs staged a late rally Monday night to claim third place in the District 7-A tournament, taking a 51-50 win over Pickett County that went right down to the wire.
The score was tied after one quarter at 12, but Pickett County took the lead early in the second period and never gave it up until the 1:43 mark of the fourth quarter, when Clay County jumped back in front and held on to take the wild win. Clay County entered the fourth quarter trailing 40-34 and made up an eight-point deficit in the final period.
The Lady Bulldogs will travel to Gordonsville Friday night in region play.
