The Clay County Public Library has many events planned for the next few weeks. The Clay County Library Board will meet on Wednesday, May 20, at 1:00.

The Summer Reading program will begin on Tuesday, May 26. Story Hours will be held every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30, with several special programs already scheduled. Conductor Jack will be here on June 2, at 9:30, The Science Guy is scheduled for June 25 at 10:00, and the Upper Cumberland Regional Library Puppeteers are scheduled for July 23. We hope to have a fun-filled, creative summer for our young readers and listeners.

There will be another beginners computer class held on Friday, May 29.

Teen Night will also be Friday, May 29. Our teens have suggested a pizza and movie night, so any teen who would like to join us, please let us know what type of pizza you like so we can order them beforehand.

There are several new books in this week. New nonfiction titles include “Crazy Love” by Leslie Morgan Steiner, “This Old House Complete Remodeling”, “How to Talk to Dads” and “How to Talk to Moms” by Alec Greven, and “What is My Dog Thinking?” by Gwen Bailey. New fiction titles include “Summer on Blossom Street” by Debbie Macomber, “Cemetery Dance” by Douglas Preston, “Dead and Gone” by Charlaine Harris, “Bad Chili” by Joe R. Lansdale, and “Whispered Lies” by Sherrrilyn Kenyon, as well as the teen read “The Last Olympian” by Rick Riordan. New on DVD at the library this week are several classic horror films, including “Dr. Jekyell and Mr. Hyde”, “The Tell-Tale Heart”, “Terror Creatures from the Grave”, “White Zombie”, “The Blancheville Monster”, “Carnival of Souls”, and “Hatchet for the Honeymoon”. Other DVD’s new to the library this week are “Laid to Rest”, “Operation Petticoat”, “Coal Miner’s Daughter”, “The Emerald Forest”, “Lord of the Flies”, “Uninvited”, “Supernatural”, “Angels in America”, “Autopsy”, “Georgia Rule”, “Tinker Bell”, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”, and “”Love’s Unending Legacy”.
