CELINA-City government is exploring the possibility of the former Crow’s Nest building on East Lake Avenue being the home for a new city hall.

Aldermen Don Haston and Joey Locke voted last Thursday night for the city to look at the building, which has housed several restaurants through the years, as a possible new city hall.  Vice-mayor Donnie Long was unable to attend the called meeting. 

A temporary city hall has been set up in the Eads building on the square after the building which formerly housed both city hall and the Clay County Rescue Squad was destroyed by fire in early June.

The new aldermen voted in their regular meeting in July to look at the lot adjacent to the fire hall just off the square as a potential building spot. The lot is owned by the city.
