James L. Brown, 79
CELINA-Funeral Services for James L. Brown of Indianapolis (IN) were held here Monday, August 3, 2009.
Mr. Brown passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born February 1, 1930 in Hilham to the late Emma (Upton) and Claude Brown. He serviced in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953, serving 2 years in Germany. James worked at Stokely-Van Camp, Inc. for 34 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Southeastern Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother Raymond Brown; and son James Brown.
He is survived by wife Rosa Lee Dulworth; son Jimmy Brown; daughters Barbara Sims, Cathy Brown, Brenda (Ronnie) England, Linda Doody, and Tammy (Steve) Kauffman; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren all of Indianapolis; and brother Paul Brown of Moss.
Services were conducted from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home with Dennis Miller officiating. Burial was in the Moss Cemetery.
Upton Funeral Home of Celina was in charge of arrangements.
Jimmy Thomas Ellis, 54
CELINA-Funeral services for Jimmy Thomas Ellis of Celina were held here Tuesday, August 4, 2009.
Mr. Ellis passed away Friday, July 31, 2009 at his residence.
He was born June 17, 1955 in Indianapolis (IN). He was affiliated with the Potter’s House Church.
He was preceded in death by his father James Ellis; and brother Junior Ellis.
He is survived by mother Frona B. Ellis of Hilham; sisters Debbie Chambers of Hilham, Margaret Williams of Indianapolis, and Judy Huston of Indianapolis; and brothers Ronald Ellis and Terry Ellis both of Indianapolis.
Services were conducted from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home with Robert Roberts officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Billy Gray, Luther McBride, Bob Barr, Ricky Short, Roger Gilbert and Dusty Keys.
Upton Funeral Home of Celina was in charge of the arrangements.
Christine Hull Hoese, 84
COOKEVILLE-Funeral services for Christine Hull Hoese were held here Thursday, July 30, 2009.
Mrs. Hoese passed away Thursday, July 28, 2009 at her residence in Cookeville.
She was born October 20, 1924 in Clay County to the late Will and Dona Tidwell Hull. She was a member of the Boma First Church of God. She was employed at Oshkosh B’Gosh in Celina and Wilson Sporting Goods in Cookeville. She was a graduate of Celina High School.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years Max Hoese of Cookeville; son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Joyce Hoese of Cookeville; step-son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Della Hoese of Marianna (FL); brother Keith Hull of Gainesboro; three grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted from the chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Burial was in the McDonald Cemetery in Clay County.
