Library News

The local public library is definitely a happening place.
The library staff is here to help people set up resumes, apply for jobs online and to assist claimants in filling out the necessary reporting requirements to the Tennessee Office of Workforce Development to ensure they receive unemployment benefits. It is also possible to change your drivers license address online, change your mailing address online, and communicate with friends and loved ones with free email. Free computer classes for the novice will be held on Friday, September 18.
There is a large selection of free DVD’s, novels, books on tape, and educational material available. Several newspapers are also available for you to read.
Recent additions to the library include “The Magicians” by Lev Grossman, “Smash Cut” by Sandra Brown, “The Siege” by Stephen White, “South of Broad” by Pat Conroy, “Fear the Worst” by Linwood Barclay, and “Blindman’s Bluff” by Faye Kellerman. New to the library on DVD are “The Soloist”, “17 Again”, “Race to Witch Mountain”, and “Fast and Furious”.

If you haven’t visited your local public library for awhile, or you are new to the area, come and join friends and neighbors who are taking advantage of a great collection of reading, watching, listening materials, and tour the information highway on one of the computers available to the public. You are more than a welcome guest.
