Clodene Ford, 77
RED BOILING SPRINGS-Funeral services for Clodene Ford of the Hermitage Springs Community were held here Friday, October 2, 2009.
Ms. Ford passed away Monday, September 28, 2009 at the Macon County General Hospital.
She was born March 24, 1932 in Clay County to the late Chester Elvin and Alta Sisco Ford. She was a garment factory worker for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Lanes Ford and infant Noel Ford.
She is survived by nieces Debbie (Don) Richardson Harper of the Union Hill Community and Trina (Jessie) Hesson of Pleasant Shade; nephew David Ford of Hermitage Springs; great-nieces Chelsea Ford of Pleasant Shade and Sara Ford of Hermitage Springs; and great-nephews Cody Richardson of Waldorf (MA), Trey Richardson of Cookeville, Dylan Richardson of the Union Hill Community, and Garrett Ford of Cookeville.
Services were conducted from the chapel of Anderson and Son Funeral with Dewayne Fox officiating. Burial was in the Smith Chapel Cemetery in Red Boiling Springs. Serving as pallbearers were Cody Richardson, Trey Richardson, Dylan Richardson, Garrett Ford, Jessie Hesson, and Don Harper.

Patricia Louise (Patsy) Sidwell, 92
CELINA-Funeral services for Patsy Sidwell of Chattanooga were held here Saturday, September 26, 2009.
Mrs. Sidwell passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the Memorial Hospice in Chattanooga.
She was born March 7, 1917 in Salecreek (TN) to the late Carl Hamilton and Hazel (Conner) Kennedy. She worked as a home extension agent in Jamestown. She was a resident of Celina for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Paul (Doc) Sidwell; sister Jennie V. Alsabrook; and brother Jack Kennedy.
She is survived by brother John Kennedy of Clearwater (FL); and nieces, nephews and extended family.
Services were conducted from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home with Bill Threet officiating. Burial was in the Fitzgerald Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Harvey Alasbrook, Randall Alsabrook, Victor Thomas, Zachary Thomas and Jimmy Hay.

Iris Bean Hudson, 91
RED BOILING SPRINGS-Funeral services for Iris Bean Hudson of Red Boiling Springs were held here Sunday, September 27, 2009.
Mrs. Hudson passed away Thursday, September 24, 2009 at The Palace in Red Boiling Springs.
She was born September 26, 1917 in Clay County to the late James William and Mildred Hall Pedigo Bean. On April 12, 1936, she married Harry H. Hudson, who preceded her in death on December 18, 1978. She was a garment worker for the former Imperial Reading in Lafayette for over 20 years and a member of the Leonard Church of Christ. She loved gardening.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Cleaburn, Will, Olin, Harold, Horace, Max, and Morris Bean; sister Marie Davis; and great-granddaughter Trelany Jordan Comer.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Harry and Joyce Hudson of Red Boiling Springs, Larry and Cynthia Hudson of the Winklers Community; four grandchildren–Sherry (Jeff) Comer of Red Boiling Springs, Melanie (Kendall) Tuck of Lafayette, Gary (Vickie) Hudson, and Mark (Scarlett) Hudson all of Red Boiling Springs; six great-grandchildren–Garrett Hudson, Bethany Hudson, McKenzie Comer, Rachel Tuck, Hanna Hudson, and Keaton Comer.
Services were conducted from the chapel of Anderson and Son Funeral Home with Jimmy Cook and Roy Henson officiating. Burial was in the Whitley Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Gary Hudson, Mark Hudson, Garrett Hudson, Kendall Tuck, Jeff Comer, and Michael Bean.

William “Mark” Humes, 44
CELINA-Funeral services for William “Mark” Humes of Celina were held here Monday, September 21, 2009.
Mr. Humes passed away Friday, September 18, 2009 at the Cumberland River Hospital.
He was born March 2, 1965 in Louisville (KY) to James William and Florence Ethel Humes. He was a Respite Care Provider.
He was preceded in death by sister Becky Capps.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by wife Theresa (Murphy) Humes; daughters Suzanna Humes-Babiarz and Tiffany (Caleb) Andrews; son Joshua (Sandra) Brooks; six grandchildren–Elijah Andrews, Isabella and Trevor Brooks, Shaila and Jaylin Mullins, and Sylus Anthony Lock; three sisters–Joy Humes, Sarah Anderson, and Wannie Wright; and three brothers–Joe, Timmy, and Jimmy Humes.
Services were conducted from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home. Burial was in the McDonald Cemetery.

Brenda Pennington, 50
CELINA-Funeral services for Brenda Pennington of Celina were held here Saturday, October 3, 2009.
Ms. Pennington passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at the Cumberland River Hospital.
She was born January 25, 1959 in Gainesboro to Aaron Vester and Evelyn (Pennington) Cunningham. She was a homemaker and was affiliated with the Church of God.
She was preceded in death by father Aaron Vester Cunningham; brother Aaron Glen Cunningham; grandparents Carlos and Bessie Pennington and Lem and Roxie Cunningham; uncles Aaron, Balus, and Joe Bob Pennington; aunt Bertha McBride; and cousins Ray Dailey, Alan Wayne, and Dennis and Angie Pennington.
She is survived by parents Robert and Evelyn Boles of Hilham; son Elijah Daniel Pennington of Celina; brothers Eddie Cunningham of Hilham, James Cunningham of Celina, Cleveland Cunningham of Celina, and Robert Allen Boles of Celina; sister and brother-in-law Vester Carol and Larry Lacy of Celina; nephew and wife Mike and Ica Lacy; nephews Nicolas Lacy, James Terry Johnson, and AJ and Braxton Boles; nieces Jennifer Lacy, Lil’ Evelyn Cunningham, and Amy Johnson.
Services were conducted from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home with Jim Webb officiating. Burial was in the McDonald Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Ackie Roach, Darrell Pennington, David Westmoreland, Larry Lacy, David Pennington and Ryan Lacy. Honorary pallbearer was Luther McBride.

Jeff Sturm, 40
RED BOILING SPRINGS-Funeral services for Jeff Sturm of Lafayette were held here Tuesday, October 6, 2009.
Mr. Sturm passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 at his residence.
He was born July 30, 1969 in Mahoning County (OH) to William and Rose Marie Grear Sturm of Wooster (OH). On July 3, 2009, he married Laura Cherry, who survives. He was a heavy equipment operator for the Charles Deweese Construction Company in Franklin (KY) and a member of the Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department in Sumner County.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by daughters Shelby, Jennah, and Madelle Sturm all of Portland (TN); step-daughter Eliza Cunningham of Lafayette; sister Penny Taylor and husband Eric of Burnsville (OH); paternal grandmother Mary Sturm of Wooster; father-in-law and mother-in-law Joe and Neva Cherry of Moss; sisters-in-law Charlotte Halliburton of Hermitage Springs and Jolena (Nathan) Birdwell of Moss; nieces Grace Taylor and Natalie Lewis; and nephews Andrew Lewis, Joseph Birdwell, and Kendal, Dalton, and Riley Thompson.
Services were conducted from the chapel of the Anderson and Son Funeral Home with Dale Strong and Michael Scott officiating. Burial was in the Kendall Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were the members of the Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department.

CELINA-Welthy Nachtigal of Celina passed away Monday, September 28, 2009 at the Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
Mrs. Nachtigal was born September 27, 1926 in Hamburg (MI) to the late James and Wilma Shannon. She was a book keeper.
She is survived by husband Walter Nachtigal of Celina; daughter Wendy Lanning of Ten Mile (TN); son Walter Nachtigal of South Haven (MI); grandchildren Jeremy and Jonathan Nachtigal; and three great-grandchildren.

Debra K. Cherry, 50
CELINA-Funeral services for Debra K. Cherry of Celina were held here Tuesday, October 6, 2009.
Ms. Cherry passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at the Clay County Manor.
She was born October 21, 1958 in Indianapolis (IN) to the late Donald Cherry of Union Hill and Charlene (Cherry) Stanley of Celina, who survives. She was a LPN.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by great-niece Chayla Braswell; and great-nephew Jayden Bowles.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by sisters Donna Kirk of Celina and Marilyn (Johnie) Troxell of Strunk (KY); nieces Layla Braswell of Scottsvllle and Jordan (Joshua) Bowles of Brunston (KY); nephew Jonathan Braswell of Celina; great-nieces Kaileigh Bowman and Angelique Braswell; and great-nephew Zeke Bowman.

J. W. Kemp, 84
RED BOILING SPRINGS-Graveside services for J. W. Kemp of the Hermitage Springs Community were held here Friday, October 9, 2009.
Mr. Kemp passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 9, 1925 in Smith County to the late William “Fiddler” and Betty Lankford Kemp. On November 21, 1960, he married the former Sally Olene Hackett, who preceded him in death on August 22, 1994. He was the maintenance supervisor for the Macon County School System with 17 years of service.
He is survived by companion Fran Etheridge of the Hermitage Springs Community; daughter and son-in-law Tracy and Rusty Adams of Hendersonville; son and daughter-in-law Roger and Elaine Kemp of the Oak Grove Community; granddaughter Amy Kemp of Lafayette; grandsons Adam Tuck, Brice Adams, and Kolby Adams of Hendersonville; step-granddaughters Gina Hatcher and husband James of Tompkinsville and Michelle Watson and husband Chris of the Pine Hill Community.
Services were conducted from the Whitley Cemetery with Kirk Dodson officiating.
