Sweet potato pie
1 1/3 cups sugar
1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
one can (17 oz.) sweet potatoes, drained and mashed
3 eggs
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
one unbaked 9-inch pie shell
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugar together in mixing bowl. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add sweet potatoes, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt; beat well until blended. Pour filling into pie shell. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Do not overbake. Pie will continue to set as it cools.

Deluxe apple crunch
6 large apples, sliced
1/2 cup sugar
nutmeg and cinnamon
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup oatmeal, uncooked
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Spread sliced apples in 9-inch baking dish, cover with 1/2 cup sugar and sprinkle with nutmeg and cinnamon. Blend remaining ingredients until mixture resembles coarse meal. Spread over apples.
Bake in 325 degree oven for one hour. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
