Lady Dawgs headed to consolation game
LIVINGSTON-The CCHS Lady Bulldogs fell to Clarkrange here last night for the third time this year in the semi-final round of their conference tournament, sending them to Monday night’s consolation game where they will have the chance to finish third in the District 7-A event.
After jumping out to a double-digit lead by the end of the first quarter by a score of 20-7 and heading into the half with a six-point margin, the Lady Dawgs were outscored in the third period 21-7 by the Lady Buffaloes.
Clarkrange used that push to take an eight-point lead into the final period, where they continued to dominate CCHS to take the 61-46 win.
Sydney Roach and Sarah Ogletree led the Lady Dawgs with 13 points each, and Kayla Kimes added 10 in the loss. They will face Pickett County in the consolation game.
Clarkrange’s Kelli Reed poured in 22 points, Molly Heady had 13, and Carly Dickens scored an even dozen for the Lady Buffaloes. They will face top-seeded Jackson County in the championship Monday night.
