HORIZON office now only open Monday for walk-ins
Can still be reached by phone or email anytime
CELINA-Dale Hollow HORIZON publisher Jon Weaver announced this week the paper’s office here will only be open on Mondays for walk-in business, but he stressed customers, readers, and advertisers will still be able to reach someone by phone or email anytime.
“We are trying to cut costs like every other small business,” Weaver said, “and we think this is one way we can do so.
“We really don’t have enough face-to-face business to warrant paying a full-time office manager and we hope people will remember to come on Mondays if they need to talk to someone or drop something off in person.”
Editor Thomas Weaver said he felt like the change would not have much of an affect on how the business operates.
“Most of our submissions come via email, with the exception of some wedding, birth, or other announcements and an occasional walk-in submission,” he said, “and we will be here on Mondays to take care of those things.
“We want people to know they can still reach us by phone at the same number (243-4710)during business hours and that we constantly monitor incoming emails ([email protected]).”
Weaver also explained, as a resident here, he can meet with people throughout the week when necessary if they will call before hand.
“I live here, so I can open the office when needed to accommodate the people of Clay County if they will give us a call first,” he explained. “We will continue to meet the needs of our customers in any way necessary.”
The HORIZON office is located just off the square here at 121 Donaldson Avenue and will be open on Mondays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. News submissions and advertisements must be received by 2 p.m. Monday for the following Wednesday edition.
