Fly fishing class set for April 5th
CELINA-A fly fishing class open to those 12 years old and older, including adults, will be held here at Clay County High School beginning Monday night, April 5.
Organizer and Tennessee Wildlife Resource officer Bill Moulton said “the first 15 to sign up will be taken,” and he explained the class would be decided on a “first-come, first-serve basis.”
Moulton said the class would run for four to five weeks and would begin at 5:30 p.m. each Monday evening.
“Myself and other volunteers who have knowledge of fly fishing plan to teach the class,” Moulton explained, “and we hope this will give some people that have always wanted to do this the chance to learn to use the method.”
Besides learning how to cast the fly rig, he said the class would include information on basic equipment, methods, fish eating habits, habitat, and life cycle.
There will be no cost involved with the class and Moulton said to call 243-3548 to register or for more information.
