Cumberland Run Cruise-In returns
CELINA-The Cumberland Run Cruise-In, the first of this year, to the Clay County Courthouse Square on Saturday April 27, featuring classic and antique cars from the region, will take place from 4 until 8 p.m. providing an opportunity for car owners to show off their wheels to admiring visitors and fellow owners.
The first 50 participants to register will receive a free t-shirt.
Everyone is invited for an evening of fun and socializing and all types of vehicles, current and classic muscle cars, antiques, and new and old customs, are welcome.
“We would like to extend a special invitation to our local owners and any owners of Mustangs, “ an organizer said. “Last year we had visitors from as far away as Bowling Green, KY and Hendersonville, TN.”
Last year’s events also had entrants from Jackson, Overton, Pickett, Smith, Macon, and Putnam Counties in Tennessee and numerous cars from Kentucky, (Tompkinsville, Gamaliel and Glasgow were represented as well as members of the Rolling Rods Club (Dry Fork, Ky.) and the Cumberland River Cruisers from Burkesville).
Other activities for visitors to enjoy include door prizes and drawings, and perusing the offerings of the various antique shops on the square.
The event is sponsored by area merchants, individuals, and organizations including NAPA of Celina, Randall’s Garage, Hale’s Body Shop, Johnny Brown’s Garage, TKM, Scott’s Bestway, David’s Auto Repair, Ollie’s Place, Meadows Garage, One Stop BBQ, Proffitt’s Auto Sales, Dale Hollow Marina, County Mayor Dale Reagan, The City of Celina, C & S Classic Cars, Celina Lumber Co., Ashlock & Strong Ins., AC Rentals/Radio Shack, Meadows Electronics, Clay County Farm Supply, Tartar Contracting, Xpress Pharmacy, and the Clay County Chamber of Commerce.
