RED BOILING SPRINGS-Funeral Services for Betty Joyce Deckard Emmert of the Hermitage Springs Community in Clay County, TN were conducted Friday afternoon, February 4, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Brother Truman Geralds officiating. Interment followed in the Clementsville Cemetery. Her pallbearers were Ronnie Brown, Gene Hickman, Joe Fred Pedigo, Paul King, Michael Lee and Bennie Carlisle.
Betty Joyce Deckard Emmert, age 74 passed away Tuesday morning, February 1, 2011 at the Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette.
Betty was born Tuesday, February 11, 1936 in Clay County, TN, the daughter of the late Virgil and Cora West Deckard.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Ruth Frazier and Mamie McCloud, brothers, J.L. and Clifton Deckard. On May 14, 1960 she married Glen Emmert, who survives. She attended Volunteer State Community College and received her real estate license. Betty was the office manager for the former Cablevision in Lafayette and Carthage with 12 years of service and a member of the Lafayette First Baptist Church.
Survivors besides her husband, Glen of 50 years include: sons & daughter-in-law, Bruce Emmert, Hermitage Springs Community, Gary & Wei Emmert, Collierville, TN, grandsons, Chris, Noah and Ike Emmert, sisters & brother-in-law, Mabel & John Davis, Cleveland, OH, Louise Cox, Indianapolis, IN.
