4-H poultry show and sale to be held on square
The first 4-H Club Poultry show and sale for Clay County boy and girl participants in a baby chick project inaugurated last spring is scheduled to be held upon the public square in Celina Saturday, September 19.
Premiums given to club members will total about $70, and following the show, all the poultry brought to town will be sold to some produce buyer at the auction.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation sent a representative to Celina Monday to take fingerprints and search for clues which might aid in the apprehension of a burglar or burglars who forced his way into Celina’s two pool rooms Sunday night or early Monday morning and carried off loot valued at less than two dollars.

Herman Edgar Sidwell of Washington, D.C. visited friends and relatives here during the past week.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Warren spent the weekend with relatives in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.

Miss Sammye Lynn of Tinsley’s Bottom visited Misses Lovell and Gloria Dean Rose of R.2 Celina during the past weekend.

Miss Christine Hull of Mill Creek left Sunday to attend T.P.I.

Mrs. Grace Cook was in Cookeville Saturday night.

John Tom Stone, 26, son of Wade Stone of Celina, Tennessee was graduated today from the Hospital Corps School at the U.S. Naval Hospital at Great Lakes, Illinois. Stone, one of a class of more than 360 men, is now rated as a hospital apprentice, second class.

On September 6, the Downings and their relatives met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brandon near Red Boiling Springs and celebrated the 7th annual Downing reunion.
135 relatives and friends enjoyed the bountiful dinner brought and prepared by the various families represented. A long table was placed on the lawn for the food.
Attendants came from Danville, Louisville, Glasgow, Austin, Flippin, Tompkinsville, Boles, Lamb, Freedom, and Gamaliel, Kentucky and from Celina, Moss, and Hermitage Springs, Tennessee.

Mr. and Mrs. Dave Egan of Brentwood, Tennessee visited relatives in Celina on Sunday.
