Bulldog Plunge a great success
The first Bulldog Plunge into Dale Hollow Lake here new year’s day was a huge success as 24 sponsored participants took to the chilly waters at Cedar Hill Marina raising approximately $1400 toward equipment purchase and refurbishment for the Clay County High School football program.
Prizes were awarded for the most sponsors, William Meadows, and for the best costume, Caleb Burnette as ‘Brave Heart’. Each took home over $75 in vouchers or products provided with the support of local businesses.
The event was created and organized by Bulldogs coach Bobby Majors who also took the plunge. “My toes were cold for about a day afterward,” exclaimed Majors Monday.
“It was inspiring to see the community come out, filling the parking lot, to Cedar Hill Marina and scream in support of our brave or just crazy players and boosters taking the plunge,” Majors said. “I’m confident the event will continue to grow for years to come and become a substantial fundraiser for our football program.”
Majors also said he wanted to thank the Clay County community for their support of the football program.
Commemorative T Shirts are still available and donations may still be made. Contact Coach Majors at Clay County High School, 931-243-2340.
