Bulldogs racking up awards in the New Year

Clay County has four players named All-State
CELINA-After being recognized as four of Region 4-A’s best in 2025, Bulldog football players Nolan Adams, Reece Adams, Kolton Brown, and Rolan Holaway are also racking up honors in the New Year.
All four were named to at least one of the two All-State teams announced in 2026, while two were honored by both the Tennessee Football Coaches Association and the Tennessee Sports Writers Association.
On top of that, both Adams players and Brown were recognized among the region’s elite as members of the Tennessean’s All-Midstate Small Class football teams—which include players from Nashville-area programs competing in Class 1A-3A and Division II-A private schools.
Senior Nolan Adams will also vie for the title of Football Offensive Player of the Year for the second-straight year during a live Middle Tennessee High School Sports Awards show, where nominees will be honored and winners announced during a live show in June.
He was named the Region 4-A MVP after setting a new Bulldog single-season rushing record with 1,849 yards (18TDs), throwing for 686 yards (10TDs), making 29 tackles, picking off five passes—including two pick-sixes, and scoring a combined 30 touchdowns this season.
Nolan has since been named to the All-Midstate 1st Team for the second year in a row and the TNFCA All-State team as an athlete and the TSWA All-State team as a quarterback—which made the third-straight year he was named All-State.
Reece Adams joined him on all three teams, but on the other side of the ball from his linebacker position, where he became the program’s all-time leading tackler this season, after setting the single-season tackle record as a junior and recording 104 tackles as a senior, including 10 tackles for loss and two sacks.
Reece also rushed for a total of 1,446 yards (20TDs) in his final campaign as a Bulldog and was named the Region 4-A Offensive MVP.
Brown was recognized as an All-Midstate 3rd Team member for his offensive line play and TSWA All-State as a defensive lineman. He was also named the Region 4-A Defensive MVP, after leading Clay County in sacks with four, and finishing his senior season as the team’s second leading tackler with 64 stops, including 10 tackles for loss.
Holaway, who was honored as the Region 4-A Offensive Lineman of the Year as a junior, was named to the TNFCA All-State team for his blocking ability in the offensive line, but, like Brown, he played both ways, and made 34 tackles on defense, including five tackles for loss and a sack.
In 2025, the four star players helped lead Clay County to an impressive 11-2 season, the Region 4-A Championship, and the program’s fourth-ever State Quarterfinal appearance.
