GAINESBORO-A perfect season… that’s the ultimate goal for any team, but for the Clay County Youth Football program one wasn’t enough as all three squads completed the feat with a clean sweep of the Tri County Youth Football League championships held here Saturday.
The trio of undefeated teams got their shot at perfection and seized the moment by remaining unbeaten after dominating their title games en route to bringing home the hardware.
With high-scoring offensive attacks and stifling defense, each team claimed convincing victory. The pewee Bulldogs reached the pinnacle first shutting out Watertown 38-0, the Junior Dawgs notched their championship 27-6 over the Junior Tigers, and the black-and-gold Seniors swatted the Trousdale County Yellow Jackets 37-0 to top off the trio of titles.
