Christmas Classic tips off on Friday at CCHS
CELINA-The 2025 Clay County Christmas Classic sponsored by Eco Panels of Tennessee tips off here Friday at Clay County High School.
The round-robin-type event featuring 11 high school basketball games over two days begins on December 19 and will continue on Saturday, December 20.
The classic will showcase five girls teams and six boys squads, including both the Dawgs and Lady Dawgs from the host school.
The other four girls teams playing are Macon County, East Robertson, Dekalb County, and Cumberland County, KY.
Those four schools, Clay County, and the UC Rams will make up the six-team boys field.
A total of five girls games and six boys contests will take place here Joe Sims Gym.
Friday’s slate will begin at 2 p.m., when East Robertson and Macon County square off in girls action, followed by a boys game between the same two schools at 3:30 p.m.
Cumberland County, KY and Dekalb County with then play a doubleheader, with the girls game to tip at 5 p.m. and the boys contest to come after at 6:30 p.m.
The first day will then wrap up at 8 p.m. with the Clay County Bulldogs hosting the UC Rams in the nightcap.
Saturday’s schedule will feature a six-game lineup, which begins at 12 noon with a girls matchup between the Clay County Lady Bulldogs and Dekalb County.
The UC Rams versus the Dekalb County boys will come next at 1:30 p.m., before Macon County and Cumberland County, KY battle each other in both girls (3 p.m.) and boys (4:30 p.m.) action.
The final two contests of the classic will feature Clay County and East Robertson, with the girls game starting at 6 p.m. and boys action to follow at 7:30 p.m.
