CELINA-After inducting the first three classes, the Clay County Sports Hall of Fame announced Monday the nomination period for the 2013 class was open and would run through November 27.

“We will be taking nominations now through the end of the month,” hall officials said in the announcement.  “We are looking forward to honoring more local sports legends with induction into the hall this year.”

Nominations can be made by anyone, but are limited to “players ten years removed for their Clay County playing days,” according to CCSHF guidelines.

Besides players, nominees may include coaches and contributors to athletic programs.

A nomination application can be found online at www.claycountyhigh.com, or obtained from Clay County High School, Clay County Mayor’s Office, Clay County Chamber of Commerce, or the Clay County Library.

The induction banquet will be held January 25, 2014 in the Clay County High School cafeteria and will be sponsored by Celina Lumber Company, Dale Hollow One Stop, Happy Sak Market, and Westmoreland Management Company.
