Annual ornament competition results announced

RESOURCEFUL IDEAS-Local youth recently competed in the annual Clay County Sanitation Recycling Ornament Contest, where they had to use their imagination to create ornaments from recyclables. Winners from Celina K-8 included (Pre-K/K) Milla Strong (1st) and (2nd) Harrison (last name unknown), (1st/2nd Grade) Zoey Schmucker (1st) and Kasen Stafford (2nd), (3rd/4th Grade) Willow Birdwell (1st) and Emmitt Stafford (2nd-not pictured), (5th/6th Grade) Gavin Doyle (1st) and Raquel Ostos (2nd), and (7th/8th Grade) Zander Sather (1st-not pictured) and Ava Ledbetter (2nd). Winners from Hermitage Springs School included (Pre-K/K) Brentley Jolin (1st), and (3rd/4th) Berkley Anderson (1st-not pictured) and Emilee Nolan (2nd). “Santas Workshop” was the theme for the contest and county mayor Dale Reagan, Meghan Deckard, and Carol Rettig presented the students with their prizes.
