Day of Hope celebration Thursday night in Celina

Mayor Reagan signs proclamation in support of effort
CELINA-A celebration of Tennessee’s Day of Hope is being hosted here at the Community Center Thursday night from 6-8 p.m. by the Clay County Anti-Drug Coalition, following the declaration of Clay County’s Day of Hope by county mayor Dale Reagan.
While the celebration, where a meal will be provided free to to public, is being held two days later, Reagan signed a proclamation last week declaring the local Day of Hope to be Tuesday, March 10 in line with the statewide day.
“For so many people, the hope of a better tomorrow is a source of strength and motivation to continue the work to overcome the hurdles in their lives or support the needs of a loved one, friend, or neighbor,” local coalition officials said. “For this seventh annual Day of Hope, we aim to inspire a collective sense of statewide hopefulness in the face of our state’s significant challenges in the fields of addiction and mental illness.”
Working under a grant contract with the State of Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, the Clay County Anti-Drug Coalition invites the public to attend Thursday night’s event.
“Join us for this special event featuring Resiliency 101 training, mental health and substance use resources for individuals and families, and a supportive space to connect and learn,” event organizers said.
