Early voting starts next Wednesday
CLAY COUNTY-With the first votes to be cast coming next week, local election officials have published a sample ballot for public viewing and are encouraging citizens here to utilize the early voting period for the November 5 State and Federal General Election as a safe and secure way to cast their ballots before Election Day.
“There’s a great deal of enthusiasm around the Nov. 5 election, and we anticipate a significant turnout,” Clay County Administrator of Elections Monica Davis said. “Head to our polling location at the Celina Fire Department at 215 Green St. in Celina during early voting to cast your ballot.”
Early voting runs October 16-31, and the sample ballot can be viewed on page 3 of this week’s HORIZON and by following the link below this article.
All registered voters can also find hours and polling locations, view sample ballots, and much more by visiting GoVoteTN.gov or downloading the Secretary of State’s free GoVoteTN app.
“We want all registered Tennesseans to make their voices heard during the early voting period,” said Secretary of State Tre Hargett. “We are expecting a robust turnout across Tennessee, and early voting provides a convenient and flexible way to cast their ballot.”
Tennesseans voting early or on Election Day should remember to bring valid photo identification to the polls.
A driver’s license or photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, by the Tennessee state government, or by the federal government are acceptable even if they are expired. College student IDs are not acceptable.
