Early voting starts Wednesday at Celina Fire Department
CELINA-The early voting period for the November 8 State and Federal General Election will begin next Wednesday, October 19 here at the Celina Fire Department on 211 Green Street.
Ballots can be cast from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturdays.
Those unable to vote by personal appearance either early or on election day have until Tuesday, November 1 to request an absentee ballot.
A sample ballot has also been published in this week’s paper by local administrator of elections Monica Davis.
Besides general elections for governor and U.S. and State House, there are four constitutional amendments and one county commission seat on the local ballot.
Denzil Cherry and Jeff Gentry are facing off for the lone seat in District 2.
Gentry was recently reappointed to fill out the term until the election by the county commission, after he vacated it earlier this year to run for sheriff in August’s County General Election.
