Vol State President introduced to ECD Board
VOL STATE VISIT-Volunteer State Community College staff met with the Joint Economic and Community Development Board last week to discuss their role in workforce development for the students and citizens of Clay County. Dr. Wendi Tostenson, the newly appointed President of Vol State, was introduced to the board. Several board partners listed new programs that could benefit both high school students and graduates. The Tennessee Reconnect program was of special interest. It is designed for those who have been (or haven’t been) to college, but did not finish. It was stated in the meeting that financial aid could be available, and potential students shouldn’t let that hinder them from starting college. (shared photo)
