RED BOILING SPRINGS-Funeral Services for Edith McCarter Coons of Red Boiling Springs, TN were conducted Wednesday morning, February 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Roy Henson officiating.  Interment followed in the Leonard Cemetery.  Her pallbearers were Johnny Young, Jody Young, Jason Graves, Nicole Coons, Jesse Gentry and Jimmy Wayne Coons.

Edith McCarter Coons, age 88, passed away Sunday evening, February 6, 2011 at The Palace in Red Boiling Springs.

Edith was born Tuesday, January 23, 1923 in Clay County, TN, one of two siblings born to the late Martin and Sarah Rush McCarter.  On March 12, 1941, she married Henry Coons, who preceded her in death on November 15, 1998.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Lonnie Coons and brother, Garland McCarter.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Leonard Church of Christ.

Survivors include daughters & sons-in-law, Geraldine & Ernest Young, Leonard Community, Charlene Graves, Darlene & Roger Boles all of Red Boiling Springs, sons, Ronnie Coons, Lafayette, Donnie Coons, Red Boiling Springs, grandchildren, Johnny & Jody Young, Jason Graves, Jimmy & Ronnie Coons, Nicole Coons, Roxanna Boles, great-grandchildren, Jade & Ty Young, Tyler & Logan Graves, Brandon Coons, Haley Coons.
