COOKEVILLE-Funeral services for Elise Buford Hodges of Cookeville were held Friday, January 7, 2011 from the chapel of Hooper-Huddleston Funeral Home. Burial was in the Paran Cemetery.
Mrs. Hodges died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
She was born October 25, 1921 in the Willow Grove Community of Clay County to the late Lloyd E. and Edna Grimsley Daniel.
Mrs. Hodges was a member of Paran United Methodist Church for 60 years. She was a retired teacher with more than 30 years of service.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Ann Maynord of Cookeville, Judy and Jack Sibella of Ramsey, New Jersey, and Faye and Tim Warren of Crossville; three grandsons and a great-grandson; a brother, Arthur Daniel of Cookeville; a sister, Louise Smith of Crossville; two step-daughters, Betty Brady and Joan Mobley.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Buford; her second husband, Cleo T. Hodges; and a son-in-law Marvin Maynord.
Reverends Danny Whitson and Tim Buford officiated at the services.
Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home of Cookeville was in charge of arrangements.
