Chocolate Pie
3/4 cup sugar
6 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 1/2 cups milk
2 egg yolks, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons butter
Combine sugar, flour, salt, and cocoa. Add milk and beaten egg yolks and mix well. Cook mixture in double boiler until thick. Add butter and vanilla and beat with a spoon. Pour into baked pie shell.
Make meringue with 2 egg whites and 4 tablespoons sugar. Place on pie. Brown in 350 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Enjoy.

Butterscotch Pie
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
5 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups milk
a few grains salt
2 egg yolks
2 tablespoons butter
Mix brown sugar, flour, and salt. Gradually add milk, mix well. Beat egg yolks and add. Cook over low heat (or in double-boiler), stirring constantly, until thick.
Add butter, pour into baked pie shell.
Make meringue of 2 egg whites and 6 tablespoons sugar. Place on pie.
Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes or until brown.
