Horizon partnering with Ashlock and Strong Insurance office
CELINA-With the onset of the digital age and walk-in business becoming a thing of the past, the Dale Hollow HORIZON newspaper has made the decision to no longer maintain a brick and mortar office here in town.
“We were already conducting business almost exclusively online, so the decision was an easy one,” HORIZON publisher Jon Weaver said. “It was also a necessary one due to declining revenues associated with print media.
“Newspapers are making tough decisions everyday, including doing away with their print editions altogether, but we hope this cost-cutting measure will help us continue serving the community for many years to come.”
Weaver, his brother Thomas, and father Bob have been producing the local weekly newspaper here for the better part of two decades and they plan to continue to offer the public access to make submissions, purchase advertisements, and more through their website and via email, plus they will have a drop-off point here two days a week.
“Most people already take advantage of the online services we offer,” Weaver said, referring to the newspaper’s website www.dalehollowhorizon.com—where advertisements, birthdays, and more can be submitted; subscriptions can be purchased; and customer invoices can be paid. “And we can always be reached by email, too.”
“On top of that, we are partnering with Ashlock and Strong Insurance to offer a place customers can drop off items on Mondays and Fridays, but we want to encourage everyone to take advantage of the online services and only use the drop-off point when absolutely necessary.”
Ashlock and Strong Insurance is located at 900 East Lake Avenue in Celina.
Weaver also explained subscription renewals and other invoice payments not completed online could be made by mail and any payments dropped off must be made using checks only during Ashlock and Strong’s regular business hours. He also stressed any inquiries or questions should be submitted via email.
“We want to thank Ashlock and Strong for agreeing to help us out and we also want to be sure they are not burdened,” Weaver said. “That’s why we are limiting what services are available there.”
HORIZON deadlines will remain unchanged, with advertisement or news submissions required prior to 12 noon on Mondays for Wednesday publication each week.
