Jesse Lee Wallen, 67
CELINA-Funeral Services for Jesse Lee Wallen of Celina and formerly of Monticello, KY were held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home with Craig Ogletree officiating and interment followed in the Alexander Chapel Cemetery. Tommy Owens, Ricky Wallen, Billy Ray Wallen, Brandon Wallen, Ricky Griffis and David Judd served as active pallbearers while Dana Wallen, Bill Guffey and Jack Roberts were named honorary pall bearers. The local D.A.V. Chapter 105 provided Military Funeral Rites at the funeral home and cemetery.
Jesse Lee Wallen, age 67, died peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville in the company of his adoring family.
Jesse was born in New Castle, Indiana on June 30, 1950 to the late Willie O. and Mary Hazel (Abner) Wallen. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers Billy Wallen, Charles Wallen, Joe Wallen; great-grandchild Blake McLearran. Throughout his life he was first a Dad and Papa and could always be called upon as a friend. Jesse served in many roles including working for many years with General Telephone in Monticello, KY and later became an independent truck driver. Jesse was baptized into Christ many years ago and became a member of the Faith Baptist Church on February 4, 2015 where he attended until his health prevented him otherwise.
Survivors include daughter Christie (Chris) Keen of Celina; son Jamie (Jennifer) Wallen of Russell Springs, KY; grandchildren Heather (David) Judd, Amanda (Josh) Gulley, Dylan (Makali) Keen, Aiden Keen, Alexis Wallen; great-grandchildren Kaylee, Alyssa, Steven, Reagan, Benton, Lola, Jayce; special friend and the mother of his children Kathy (Sexton) Wallen; many nieces and nephews as well as a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
