Kits to help kids made through cooperative effort
Anti-Drug Coalition, Sheriff work together on project
CELINA-The Clay County Anti-Drug Coalition (CCADC) recently partnered with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office to assemble a total of 100 “Lambi Kits” to help kids cope with substance abuse.
The kits include a stuffed animal, other materials, and a “Lambi Learns About Addiction” book written by Trish Luna.
They were put together by local inmates under the direction of sheriff Brandon Boone.
“Millions of kids are impacted every day by a parent or caregiver’s substance use,” CCADC officials said. “‘Lambi Learns’ is a way to help littles understand the disease of addiction and most importantly that it isn’t their fault and they aren’t alone!
“The book offers practical coping skills and beautiful illustrations to help tell a relatable story,” they continued. “Just doing our part to help break the cycle and guide our kids to a healthier future.
“Thank you to Sheriff Brandon Boone and especially the inmates that graciously helped with this project!”
