Clay County heads into postseason as #3 seed

CELINA-The District 7-A Volleyball Tournament will be played here at Clay County High School next week, as the Lady Bulldogs host both their quarterfinal matchup with Red Boiling Springs Monday and the semifinals and finals on Tuesday.

The Lady Dawgs finished 9-3 in the league and will enter the event as the #3 seed.  With a win over RBS Monday at 5:30 p.m., Clay County will advance to play Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Their semifinal match would be against either #2 seed Jackson County or #7 seed Monterey, depending on the quarterfinal results from a match between those two schools Monday in Gainesboro.

The other semifinal will played in Joe Sims Gym Tuesday at 4 p.m., when #1 seed York will face the winner of a quarterfinal match between #4 seed Clarkrange and #5 seed Van Buren County.

The District 7-A Championship match will feature the semifinal winners the same night at 7:30 p.m.

The top two teams will advance to play in the Region 4-A Tournament hosted by the District 7-A Champion on Tuesday, October 14.
