Lady Dawg Amelia Kirk is All-UC; Roach, Ogletree are named all-freshman
COOKEVILLE-Clay County High senior post Amelia Kirk (right) was named to the third team in the Herald-Citizen’s annual All-Upper Cumberland girls basketball squad recently.
Kirk, who averaged just under 11 points per game and also grabbed six rebounds per contest, was earlier in the year named first-team All-District 7-A in a vote of league coaches.
She was one of three Lady Bulldogs honored in the annual voting, with a pair of CCHS freshmen honored.
Lady Dawgs Sydney Roach and Emma Ogletree (pictured below) were named to the all-freshman UC team. They were both earlier named to the all-freshman team in District 7-A.
Upperman’s Lashay Davis and Cookeville’s Erin Helton were named co-players of the year, while three District 7-A players were on the first team–Molly Heady and Tasha Phillips of Clarkrange and Class A Miss Basketball Laken Leonard of Jackson County.
The voting was by area coaches in a poll conducted by the Herald-Citizen, and includes players from all three basketball classifications.
