The Clay County Public Library Board will meet on May 20 at 1:00 at the library. The meeting is open to the public, but we will be unable to check items in or out during the meeting.
We will be closed on Monday, May 25, for the Memorial Day weekend. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.
The Summer Reading Program will begin on Tuesday, May 26, with story hour from 9:30 to 10:30. We would like to thank our local businesses who have shown their support for our children by contributing to our summer reading program, including Honest Abe Log Homes, Jean Donaldson, State Farm Insurance, and Donaldson Pharmacy. Thanks to our sponsors, we will have entertainers such as Conductor Jack visiting on June 2, The Science Guy visiting on June 25, and our end of the summer party on July 30.
There will be another Beginners Computer Class on Friday, May 29, and Teen Night will also be on May 29.
There are several new books in this week, including “The Way Home” by George Pelecanos, “Sanctuary” by Ken Bruen, “Secret Societies” by David Southwell, “Gun Violence” by Ronnie D. Lankford, “The Salem Witch Trials” by Don Nardo, “The Soloist” by Steve Lopez, “Prince of Fire” by Daniel Silva, “Pyramids” by Charles George, “Medical Marijuana” by Elaine Minamide, “Haunted Houses” by Stuart Kallen, and “The Curse of King Tut” by William Lace. Come in and check us out!
