The Clay County Public Library will be closed on Monday, September 7, for the Labor Day holiday.
The library has begun a year-round story time for preschoolers. Story time is on Fridays, beginning at 10:00. All parents of preschoolers are welcome to bring their child in for a story and craft.
There will be a free beginner’s computer class on Friday, September 18, beginning at 9:00.
The Clay County Public Library Board will meet on Wednesday, September 23, at 1:00. The meeting is open to the public, but we will be unable to check items in or out during this time.
There are several new books in the library this week. New titles include “The Missing” by Beverly Lewis, “Fields of Grace” by Kim Vogel Sawyer, “Dawn’s Prelude” by Tracie Peterson, “Milk Glass Moon” by Adriana Trigiani, “The Killer Angels”, “The Last Full Measure”, and “Gods and Generals” by Jeff Shaara, and “Where Do I Belong” and “Mama’s Girl” by Carolyn J. Day. For our nonfiction readers we have “The First Days of School : How to Be An Effective Teacher” by Harry K. Wong, “How Many Women Does it Take to Change a Redneck?” by Jeff Foxworthy, and “May I Kiss You?” A Candid Look at Dating, Communication, Respect, and Sexual Assault Awareness” by Michael J. Domitrz. For our teen readers we now have “The Last Apprentice: Wrath of the Bloodeye”, “The Last Apprentice: The Spook’s Tale and Other Horrors”, and “The Last Apprentice: Clash of the Demons” by Joseph Delaney, “Pendragon: The Soldiers of Halla” by D.J. MacHale, and “Ranger’s Apprentice: The Siege of Macindaw” by John Flanagan. Come in and check us out!
